Shela Health is a precision maternal-health company focused on addressing one of the most critical challenges in healthcare today: the early identification and prevention of pregnancy and postpartum complications. More than 25% of pregnancies globally involve a significant complication, many of which are detected too late to enable effective prevention. Shela aims to change this paradigm.

Shela develops advanced predictive models that leverage clinical and multiomics data to identify risk for high-impact conditions such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm birth, and fetal growth restriction at the earliest stages of pregnancy. By enabling risk identification weeks earlier than standard practice, Shela shifts maternal care from a reactive model to a proactive, prevention-focused approach, allowing timely intervention when it can most meaningfully improve outcomes. The platform is designed to integrate seamlessly into real-world care pathways, supporting clinicians and health systems while complementing existing standards of care rather than replacing them.

Shela is now beginning the deployment of its first predictive model and is building toward a broader lifecycle platform that spans pregnancy, postpartum, and long-term women’s health.
