LiveKidney Bio is a regenerative medicine, clinical-stage company, aiming to improve the health span and lifespan for kidney patients worldwide. The company’s products are based on proprietary, cell-shielding formulations of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) that promote the continuous and constant release of therapeutic bioactive compounds, producing beneficial systemic and multiorgan effects via unique routes of administration. The company’s products modulate the immune system, reduce inflammation and fibrosis and improve mitochondrial activity, thereby improving kidney function. Our lead product candidate, LK-01 is administered into the subcutaneous tissue and intended to treat autoimmune related kidney disease, including lupus nephritis, IgA nephropathy, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis that disproportionately affect women. Initial clinical trials with LK-01 in the US and Israel focus on lupus nephritis that occurs in 60% of lupus patients, predominantly affecting women of childbearing age, with promising safety and efficacy results.
